Today's Prayer for

Where’s the light
I remember its warm
Oh the smile I once carried
As it’s fire burned inside of me
Darkness now engulfs me
Freezes me in time
I can’t find memories
Of the life of yester years
I struggle to want to be
No longer do my arms reach high
For a reason, a season
To desire once again to breathe

I dare not dream of radiance
I only hope to care
To know this pain of emptiness
Might someday leave me alone.
